SAWSAWA AI ("we", "our", "the app") is a free voice and text translation application built for migrant workers in the Gulf region. This policy explains what information the app uses, how it is processed, and the choices you have.

Information the app processes

To provide translation, SAWSAWA AI processes the following types of data when you actively use a feature:

• Voice recordings — captured only when you tap the microphone, sent securely to our speech-to-text provider for transcription, and not stored on our servers after processing.
• Text you enter or receive — sent to our translation provider to generate the translated output.
• Photos and documents — used only when you choose Image Translate or Document Translate, to extract and translate text.
• Basic usage data — such as daily translation counts and streaks, stored locally on your device to power features like your progress tracker.

How we use this information

Data is used solely to deliver the translation, transcription, and text-to-speech features you request. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your voice, text, or document content for advertising targeting.

Third-party processing

SAWSAWA AI uses trusted third-party AI services to perform speech-to-text and translation. These providers process the content momentarily to return a result and are bound by their own data-handling terms. We do not share your personal identity with these providers beyond what is required to process a single request.

Advertising

The app is free to use and is supported by ads served through Google AdMob, including banner, native, and rewarded ads. AdMob may use device identifiers to serve and measure ads according to Google's own advertising and privacy policies.

Data storage and retention

Translation history and favourites are stored locally on your device unless you choose to clear them from Settings. We do not maintain a long-term server-side archive of your conversations.

Your choices

• You can clear your chat history at any time from Settings.
• You can decline microphone, camera, or file access — the corresponding features simply won't be available.
• You can request deletion of any account-linked data by contacting us (see below).

Children's privacy

SAWSAWA AI is designed for adult workers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
